Driver: Conservation and Research Farm
Parys (Free State)
Purpose:
To provide a professional, confidential and organisational service to the Johannesburg Zoo, in line with the company vision, mission and values.
Responsibilities include: but are not limited to:
· Operate a Tractor-Loader-Backhoe (TLB)
· Operate / drive a tractor with various implements
· Drive the Farm LDV (bakkie) when required
· Basic maintenance of a TLB and tractor (grease, engine oil, hydraulic oil, transmission oil, cleanliness)
· Maintain implements in good working order
· Road maintenance
· Making of and maintaining of firebreaks with TLB and tractor.
· Relief animal attendant and basic kitchen work.
· Collect food (teff, lucerne, carcasses etc) and assist with loading, offloading, slaughtering etc
· Operate meat saw when required (training to be provided)
· General farm work
Experience and Requirements:
Experience as TLB operator will be a recommendation.
· Drivers license, minimum EB for at least two years
· Grade 12.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate on different levels
A one bedroom house is provided for the incumbent on the Conservation and Research Farm (includes electricity and water)
