Soon after the start Rear Window, Shanlyn Whirly, Global Lad, Winklea Bent and Shingo bumped, checking Shanlyn Whirly, Global Lad and Winklea Bent, soon after Shanlyn Whirly, Global Lad and Winklea Bent bumped. Approaching the first turn Blue McCool and Rear Window bumped. At the same time Shanlyn Whirly and Winklea Bent bumped, checking Shanlyn Whirly. Who’s Talking was slow out. Callamac Rebel was very slow out. On the first turn Winklee Tam and Fantastic Emma bumped, checking Winklee Tam. At the same time What Now, Woodleigh Doll and Kell Lee bumped, checking Kell Lee. Entering the home straight Woodleigh Doll and What Now bumped, checking What Now. Kell Lee raced wide in the home straight. A post race swab sample was taken from Knocka Lefty the winner of the event.

Designer Rush was slow out. Soon after the start Winston Wolf and Marty Pines bumped. Vail and Designer Rush raced wide in the home straight.

RACE 6 – Derwent Link Grade 5 (2) 461M

Maverick Buddy was a late scratching at 6:45pm by reason of injury pursuant to GAR 37(2). After undergoing a veterinary examination Maverick Buddy was found to have a laceration to its right front foot and was subsequently stood down from racing for a period of 10 days. Entering the home straight Yankee Al and Brindle Pogo bumped. In the home straight Brindle Pogo eased. Brindle Pogo underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr B Pursell in relation to the racing manners of Brindle Pogo in the home straight. Acting on their own observations, viewing the official replays and taking evidence from Mr Pursell, stewards were of the opinion that Brindle Pogo had eased and turned its head outwards towards Yankee Al but failed to make head or muzzle contact with that greyhound but by doing so had failed to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event pursuant to GAR 69(1)(b). Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(2)(a), Brindle Pogo has been stood down from racing for a period of 28 days Hobart only and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Races 7 to 10 were put back one race due to a participant who was catching a greyhound in race 6 being knocked over by the field as they entered the catching pen and subsequently required medical transportation to the hospital for treatment. Race 10 was scheduled to be run at 11:07pm. Soon after the start Faolan and Hellyeah Reggie bumped, soon after Hellyeah Reggie and Cool Moss bumped, checking Cool Moss. On the first turn Hello Scott and Faolan bumped, checking Faolan. Entering the home straight Bandit’s Revenge checked off the heels of Hellyeah Reggie. A post race swab sample was taken from Big Poppy Barry the winner of the event.

Juneau and Street Danger raced wide early in the home straight. Approaching the winning post Locknane Wally and Georgius bumped. GENERAL

Superboy completed a steward’s satisfactory trial as it was stood down from the Hobart Greyhound Racing Club Meeting on the 5th September 2013 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event pursuant to GAR 69(1)(b). Weighing 29.7 kilos and beginning from box 5, Superboy completed the 461 metre trial distance in a time of 26.80. Superboy has been cleared to race at all tracks up to 515 metres.

Oliver Twist completed a steward’s satisfactory trial as it had not competed in an event for a period in excess of six months pursuant to LR 31.3. Weighing 33.1 kilos and beginning from box 3, Oliver Twist completed the 278 metre trial distance in a time of 19.78. Oliver Twist has been cleared to race at all tracks.

Cruising Bond completed a steward’s satisfactory trial as it had not competed in an event for a period in excess of six months pursuant to LR 31.3. Weighing 28.7 kilos and beginning from box 5, Cruising Bond completed the 278 metre trial distance in a time of 19.65. Cruising Bond has been cleared to race at all tracks.
