A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE THE GEORGIA PACIFIC CORPORATION’S RUSSELLVILLE PLANT AND ITS EMPLOYEES FOR ACCEPTANCE INTO THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY’S NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE TRACK PROGRAM.
Whereas, the Georgia Pacific Corporation’s Russellville Plant, which manufactures chemicals for use in wood products, has taken a proactive role in environmental protection evidenced by its acceptance into the National Environmental Performance Track Program; and
Whereas, the National Environmental Performance Track Program is a public/private partnership established by the Environmental Protection Agency in June of 2000 to recognize top environmental performance among facilities of all types, sizes, and complexity; and
Whereas, program members demonstrate strong environmental performance beyond current requirements and provide leadership in many areas, including preventing pollution at its source; and
Whereas, the National Environmental Performance Track is the Environmental Protection Agency’s highest accreditation for environmental performance; and
Whereas, member companies consistently exceed regulatory requirements, work closely with their community, and excel in protecting the environment and public health; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to honor the Georgia Pacific Corporation’s Russellville Plant and its employees for their commitment to strong environmental performance. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, hereby honor and congratulate the Georgia Pacific Corporation’s Russellville Plant and its employees for their acceptance into the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Performance Track Program.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Georgia Pacific Corporation’s Russellville Plant.
