ENERGY UTILITY TECHNOLOGY DEGREE PROGRAM

Background Check Requirements

Notice: All students wishing to enter the Energy Utility Technology program must be subject to a background check. This is a requirement that is mandated by PSEG before taking the UTI101, UTI102, UTI103 sequence. At the end of June each year, you will meet with the EUT advisor and will receive instructions for doing your background check.

The approximate cost of the background check to the student is $115. Failure to pass the background check will automatically mean that you are not eligible to participate in the EUT program or to remain on any waiting list for the program. You may not appeal the decision.

If you do not pass the background check, you will also not be eligible for a refund for any part of the tuition or fees paid for any course you may have taken in the program.

In order to be fully accepted into the program, you must meet with Prof. Jinsoo Park, the EUT program coordinator, and present to him PSEG company-approved background check documentation. Prof. Park will then require you to read and sign a “EUT Degree Student Agreement” form that outlines program details. After you have presented the background check documentation, signed the “Student Agreement” form, and Prof. Park’s notifies you of your acceptance into the program, you are then eligible to register for the UTI-101, UTI-102, and UTI-103 sequence of courses.

PSEG will conduct another background check prior to each internship. If you fail to pass any subsequent background check, you will be subject to dismissal from the program.
