Lion King – Year 6 Performance
This production was amazing, it made me truly ecstatic. The costumes looked fantastic. The actors were very talented it must have been extremely hard to remember everything and learning the words is difficult. Out of the many shows we have watched it has been one of the greatest! My favourite part of the show was when Simba goes back to the tribe and reunites with his family. My favourite character was Lewis (Simba) because he really gave it his all in everything.
Some comments from my class were;
“I liked all the singing,” says Sian.
“The costumes were very realistic!” said Jake
“I thought that the costumes, especially the animals, were amazing!” said Lacy & Bailey.
“I thought that the show and the acting was fantastic.” said Poppie
“I loved the part where the hyenas chased scar away, I laughed my head off!” said Charlie & Harley

From a parent: …….
Please may I pass on my congratulations to the Year 6 team who were amazing last night in their Lion King production. Everything from the scenery to the singing and acting was simply superb; what a great little actor Oliver is!!
Congratulations to everyone involved…..staff and pupils!!
Reports:
We are expecting our Year 6 results on Monday 4th July, in line with the rest of the country. As a consequence of this the reports will be issued to you on Tuesday 5th July.
Bicycles
We are happy for the children to rind their bicycles to school but could we ask that they don’t ride them around the playground at the start or end of the day as it is too busy.
Class lists:
We will be writing to you this week to inform you of the class your child will be in for September 2016.
Transition Day. Wednesday 6th July
This is the day when all the children go to their new class for September. ALL year 6 pupils will go straight to their new school and DO NOT COME HERE. September’s Year 3/4/5/6 pupils will go straight to their new classes, which will be clearly marked. There will be senior staff on hand to help them but please ensure you have told the children which class they are in so they can sort themselves out where possible.
What’s Been Happening in …………..Strong Class
This week in Strong class we have been sharpening up on our ICT skills and in particular learning how to make a PowerPoint. Our topic for this term is Out and About. We have been comparing the area we live in to St. Ives, where some of us were lucky enough to visit on our residential trip. Therefore we decided that we would create a presentation talking about all the interesting features of Yeovil.
Our presentations are work in progress. We have all completed our first slide and are looking forward to adding more slides in the coming weeks. Here are a few examples of the work we have produced.
For most of us it was the first time we have used the PowerPoint programme on the computer so it was a new challenge. Even though we have only had one lesson so far, we have already learnt some new IT skills.
“I learnt how to add a different background to my presentation to make it more colourful.” - Sara Pereira
“I learnt how to save a file on the computer so I could go back to it and work on it again.” – Zak Rhoden
