Relieving Deputy Principal semester one 2016.

Position Information:

This relieving position is initially for semester one 2016 with the possibilityof extension throughout semester two. The position is K-6 with the successful applicant taking responsibility for whole school initiatives.This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and committed educator with the capacity to lead school innovation and excellence.

Kingsgrove Public School is a K-6 school with an enrolment of approximately 545 students of whom 78% have language backgrounds other than English and 3% have Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island background. The school is located across two sites with K-2 and 3-6 sites a short walk apart. The school has extensive grounds and gardens. Our school vision is to develop 21st century learning in a caring and inclusive multicultural community. The school is currently implementing an exciting program of school innovation including creating a STEM centre to provide students a wide range of ICT learning activities and implementing the PBL,TEN and L3 programs. The school offers for a wide range of extra-curricular programs including choir, dance, school band, public speaking and varied sporting activities including PSSA. The school is supported by a proactive P&C who are working with the school to enhance parent engagement.

Position criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead innovation through visible leadership and proactive management of whole school programs and practicesto enhancestudent and staff learning and well-being.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, inspiring and managing experienced and early career staff through performance and development processes to enhance student learning.
  • Capacity to lead staff in rigorous professional learning, excellence in data analysis and tracking of student achievement to improve whole school literacy and numeracy outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships, enhance a collaborative learning culture and and engage all levels of the school community.
