General
Wheelchair rolls straight (no excessive drag or pull to one side). If dragging, check tire pressure, balance motors (up to 10% deviation).
Clothing Guards
Ensure all fasteners are secure.
Arms
o  Secure but easy to release; adjustment levers engage properly.
o  Adjustable height arms operate and lock securely.
Wheel Locks (If Available)
o  Do not interfere with tires when rolling.
o  Pivot points free of wear and looseness.
o  Wheel locks easy to engage.
Arm Rests
o  Inspect for rips in upholstery.
o  Arm rest pad sits flush against arm tube.
o  Inspect for holes or tears on the joystick/controller.
Seat and Back Upholstery
o  Inspect for rips or sagging.
o  Inspect fasteners.
o  Custom seating secure to chair frame.
o  Custom seating locks work correctly.
Front Rigging
o  Footrests or leg rests solid and secure (hangers, extension tubes).
o  Check footplates for smooth operation and tightness.
o  Check swingaway latches for smooth operation, secureness.
o  Heel loops secure.
Drive Wheels
o  Axle nut and wheel mounting nuts are secure.
o  No excessive side movement or binding when lifted and spun when disengaged (free-wheeling).
o  Lockout hubs (if available) work properly.
o  Check motor brush condition.
o  Check gearboxes for leakage.
o  Lubricate braking mechanisms.
o  Remove wheels and bearings, clean buildup from between wheels and bearings.

Electronics & Wiring
o  Clear previous programs or profiles and reset with mfg. std. programs, check fault logs, test all drive switches for proper function (joystick, head array, sip & puff, etc.).
o  Check all cables, wiring harnesses, and electrical connections for wear and damage. (IF NEEDED, cover with electrical tape,etc. and tie down or together with a zip tie.
o  Check battery charger for correct function and performance.
o  Check integrity of battery box(es) and batteries, load test
batteries (programmer & power stall—no more than 2v drop).
o  Inspect joystick boot
o  Inspect and test tilt (when applicable)
o  Inspect and test recline (when applicable)
o  Inspect and test electronic foot rests (when applicable)
Front Stabilizers--MWD Wheelchairs Only
o  Bolts are tight.
o  Adjusted for desired ride. WARNING: Must be adjusted by an authorized dealer or qualified technician.
Casters
o  Inspect wheel/fork assembly for proper tension by spinning caster, caster should come to a gradual stop.
o  Loosen/tighten lock nut if wheel wobbles noticeably or binds to a stop.
o  Inspect dust cap, replace if necessary
o  Inspect wheel bearings
CAUTION: As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced if worn or cracked.
Caster/Wheel/Fork/Head Tube
o  Ensure all fasteners are secure.
o  Inspect wheel bearings
Tires
o  Inspect for flat spots and wear.
o  Check to see that at least half the tread remains.
o  If pneumatic tires, check for proper inflation.
o  Inspect both sides of tires for cracks
CAUTION: As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear, and should be replaced if worn or cracked.
Test Driving
