Please find the 2017 scholarship application for the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage

Foundation enclosed. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving seniors of Italian heritage who are presently attending a school in Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, or Ohio County in West Virginia or Belmont or Jefferson County in Ohio. Students may download an application at

Please be reminded that all candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, a minimum ACT composite score of 21, an SAT combined Critical Reading and Math total of 980 if taken before September of 2016, or a combined Reading and Math total of 1060 on the Enhanced SAT, and applicants must write an essay. Late applications or failure to complete any section of the scholarship application will result in disqualification.

Deadline for submission is March 11, 2017. Please return completed applications to:

ITALIAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

1.ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED

2.Applicants must be of Italian heritage.

3.The applicants of this scholarship must be 12th grade students attending a high school in Brooke, Hancock, Marshall or Ohio County in West Virginia or Belmont or Jefferson County in Ohio.

4.The amount of the scholarship and the number of scholarships awarded annually will be determined by the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival Board of Directors.

5.The applicant must pursue a four-year accredited baccalaureate program.

6.The scholarship will be for one year only.

7.Applicants for this scholarship will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Italian Heritage
  • Character
  • Leadership
  • Academics
  • Community Service
  • Participation in school activities

8.All applicants must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale, minimum ACT composite score of 21, an SAT combined Critical Reading and Math total of 980 if taken before September of 2016, or a combined Reading and Math total of 1060 on the Enhanced SAT.

9.The final decision on awarding the scholarship will be made by an independent committee appointed by the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival Board of Directors.

10.Failure to complete any section of the scholarship application will result in disqualification.

11.Deadline for submission of the Scholarship application is March 11, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted.
