Title: / Swim Meet Concessions Chairperson
Purpose/Objective: / Coordinate volunteers to sell food and refreshments at the swim meet.
Location: / The concessions are located outside the pool. The week before the swim meet you will need to visit the storage shed to take an inventory of what supplies are there. The night before the meet, during the meet and immediately following the meet the work will be performed at the pool.
Key Responsibilities: / Prepare menu for concessions. Be creative. Think healthy and yummy. There is minimal budget for concessions. Save receipts to turn in to treasurer for reimbursement If planning to sell concessions from the Carroll college concessions booth, be sure to make arrangements with Steve Jones early (couple months ahead) __Fill out donation requests from Costco, Wal-Mart, Target and Wendy’s – NEEDS TO BE DONE 30 DAYS BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH YOU ARE REQUESTING THE DONATIONS Line up volunteers to work shifts in concessions, arrange to have donated items picked up or delivered. Be sure to cover and unplug the vending machines, so sales are not lost to those. Obtain change from the treasurer (suggested 2-day meet: $100 in ones, $70 in fives, $80 in quarters for a total of $250. Make sure this remains secure!) __Arrive early on day of meet to help set up concessions area, start hot beverages and get ice. Be sure concessions adequately staffed at all times __help dismantle and clean-up concessions area after the meet. __Help organize all left over supplies and return them to storage __arrange for storage of any leftover beverages (temps too extreme in storage unit) __retain and submit all receipts to treasurer __provide meet manager with any suggestions for future and an inventory of what was purchased, what used and what is left. Label storage bins with contents and place all food items in the sealed plastic tubs.
Qualifications: / List education, experience, knowledge, and skills required. If a criminal history record check or other background check will be conducted, it should be indicated here.
Length of Appointment: / This position is designated for all the meets the team hosts for the season. That is typically 1-day meet and 1 two-day meet.
Time Commitment: / You will need to plan the menu at least 1 month before the meet and call Steve Jones if the meet is at Carroll. You will need to visit the storage shed and take an inventory to see what you need to buy for the menu. A swim meet can last 4 to 12 hours.
