BBC One is looking for ten amateur painters to showcase their talent in an exciting new competition for 2016. We are offering budding artists the chance to receive intensive training from some of the country’s most respected experts.This is unique chance to unlock your potential and show to the nation your creations on canvas.

With the right coaching and inspiration you could become a truly great artist and be crowned the winner on primetime television in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

  • Please send your application in as soon as you can, but by no later than Friday June 10th 2016
  • Please include TWO photographs of your work either via e-mail or by post, as well as a picture of yourself.
  • Filming is scheduled to take place in July and August 2016.
  • You must be over the age of 16 on 1stJuly 2016 to enter.
  • If your application has been successful for the next stage of the casting you will be telephoned by one of the production team.

Application Rules

  1. You must be aged 16 or above.
  2. You must be resident of the UK (incl. Isle of Man and Channel Islands).
  3. You must be able to commit to all the filming days required which are currently expected to be during July and August 2016. These may include weekdays and weekends.
  4. You must not be, or be closely related to, a member of BBC staff or anyone connected with the programme.
  5. Details of unspent convictions should be listed on the application form. This does not necessarily exclude you from applying but the BBC would need to know.
  6. Please advise the production team if you have had any complaints against you in the past and if they have been actioned or resolved.
  7. Please be aware that if you have been shortlisted, you will need to complete a Disclosure Scotland check which you will be reimbursed for any incurred fees by the production.
  8. If you are chosen to participate in the Programme, you agree to authorise BBC Productions to conduct background checks in order to verify any of the information you have supplied and you agree to provide them with any assistance or further information necessary to do this.
  9. Submission of an application form and compliance with the above does not in any way constitute an offer to appear on the programmes.
  10. When selecting applicants for this series, the following will be taken into account: artistic ability, artistic potential, enthusiasm, drive, personality, motivation and inspiration, age, geography, experience, skill, hobbies and other interests, personal background and circumstances. Initial selection will be based on the application forms and telephone interviews. In addition the Producers may (but may not) invite short listed applicants to attend an interview at their discretion.
  11. If you are selected to take part in the programme you agree to sign a contributor consent form and grant all necessary rights.
  12. The Production team's decisions regarding selection to the programmes are entirely at their discretion and are final.
  13. You agree to inform BBC Productions if any details included in this application change
  14. Please note, no cash prize or reward will be awarded for completion of the course / series.
  15. If invited to an audition we are unable to cover expenses at the initial stage. If invited for a second audition or any other meeting the BBC will cover costs if previously agreed with production in writing.
  16. The BBC will not cover loss of income for participants.

Please note – owing to the large volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to any unsuccessful applicants directly.

Important information about the use of your data

1.Personal information which you supply to BBC London Productions during the application, audition and casting process will only be used in association with the development and/or production of the programme and your participation therein.

2.Your personal information will be shared with members of the programme production team and relevant staff at the broadcaster of the programme and may be shared with the broadcaster’s insurers.

3.BBC London Productions will ensure that any information provided for the purpose of producing the programme will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

4.All information will be kept secure and treated as confidential and will only be disclosed with your permission (including any permissions you give here or in the rest of the application process). In submitting this application form you are consenting to us using your personal information as set out in this section.

5.You have the right of access to the information held and used by us. If at any point you decide that you no longer want us to hold, use or process any of your personal information or you want to update your contact details please email us at stating the name of the programme, and we will amend or remove your personal information from our records. BBC London Productions finds it useful where possible to retain on file the personal details of its contributors for future related use when, for example, producing similar programmes. Please note that if you agree to this, the BBC; subsidiaries and affiliates may contact you separately and you agree to the BBC passing to its subsidiaries and affiliates information for this purpose.
