Volunteer Information for Rotary Tree Planting Day

  • Parking: A small lot is located at the entrance to the park with more space across the road. Please park as close to Marketplace Way as possible.
  • Registration
  • Is preferred but not required. To register go to:
  • Most important is to sign in when you arrive at the white registration tent in the parking lot. You will be asked to document total volunteer time. Every hour of volunteer time counts toward providing a match toward the Treevitalize grant that is paying for the trees. Thank you in advance for every hour of time!
  • Volunteer duties
  • Assisting in transporting trees to locations
  • Using shovels to dig and fill tree holes with dirt
  • Transporting and spreading mulch around trees
  • Attire
  • Volunteers will be working in cleared fields in the sun at the very top of the hill of the park. The path to the area has patches of stones. Please wear appropriate footwear (no sandals), and ideally long pants to protect legs from brush, insects, and sun. Bring sun protective gear such as hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Work gloves are also encouraged.
  • Food
  • Bottled water will be available but no other food items. If staying for prolonged periods food can be obtained at the shopping center across from the park. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages but all garbage should be taken with you.
  • Other Considerations
  • Extensive walking will be required from the parking area to the top of the hill where the trees will be planted with no access by private vehicles.
