The youth club wish to provide the best environment for all the young members. Members deserve to be have an enjoyable and safe environment, free of abuse of any kind. The members have rights, which must be respected, and responsibilities which they must accept.

Members are entitled to:

  • Be safe and feel safe.
  • Be listened to and be heard.
  • Be treated with respect, dignity and sensitivity.
  • Have a voice in the organisation.
  • Participate on an equal basis.
  • Have fun and enjoy them selves.
  • Experience competition in a level they feel comfortable.
  • Make complaints and have them dealt with.
  • Confidentiality.

Members should always:

  • Treat all leaders, committee members and fellow members with respect and consideration.
  • Try to make everyone feel welcome and included
  • Abide by the rules set down by St. Brigid’s youthclub Committee and Leaders.

Members should never:

  • Use violence or physical contact with any other youthclub member.
  • Shout or argue with fellow members or youth leaders.
  • Harm in any way any fellow member, leader or the property.
  • Bully or use bully tactics.
  • Use or bring cigarettes, alcohol or drugs to the youthclub.

On meeting nights:

  • Sign-in is at 7:30pm sign out is at 9:30pm. The youthclub cannot take responsibility for any child outside these hours.
  • Parental consent is required for early sign-out.
  • Members are asked to pay 3euro per night to cover costs.
  • Youth leaders will be present in the room at all times.
  • The youthclub room is a parent-free zone. Youth leaders supervise the members and parents are present in the centre as a support to the youth leaders.
  • Snacks are provided. No outside food or drink can be brought in to the youthclub.

Parents of members are expected to supervise the club on a rota basis. This will involve all parents approximately one Saturday night per term.
