The Morgan & Weisbrod Scholarship of $500 was created to support a college bound senior from Hillcrest High School who has demonstrated future plans to pursue a career to help the disabled (law, social work, medicine, etc.). Selection will be based upon school and community participation, reasonable academic success at Hillcrest, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need.

Application Requirements:

Applicant preferences:

1.  Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and,

2.  Have documented financial need, and,

3.  Have documented disability of him/herself or family member (can be physical, mental or learning disability), or,

4.  Have plans to pursue a career to help the disabled (law, social work, medicine, etc.).

5.  Not be related to a Dallas ISD employee or to any member of the Board of Education, or an employee of Morgan & Weisbrod, LLP.

Selection Process:

The applications of all qualified students will be reviewed by a scholarship advisory committee.

Deadlines:

Applicants must submit a completed application and all required information by Friday, May 5, 2017. Please be aware of the following:

1.  Submit applications to Ms. McNutt in room 100.

2.  The recipient will be notified no later than the Senior Assembly at HHS in May.

3.  The recipient will receive the scholarship funds upon documentation of enrollment in at least 9 credit hours in an accredited college, university, or community college for Fall 2017.

Essay:
