On Sept 22, Learning 360 staff visited LCMS; Mr. Olsen was so impressed that he is returning on Feb. 20 to film learning and include on the Edivation site. On Sept. 25, Leslie Flatt with WKSEC did engagement walk-throughs, and she is returning on Nov. 13 to do a vocabulary training with staff after school. U of L did walk-throughs on Oct 23-24 and discussed data & strategies with staff after school on Oct. 23. These experiences provided valuable resources and feedback for improving learning at LCMS.
School spirit overflows at LCMS. We had a very successful pep rally and school spirit dress day on Oct. 21. Please check out the pictures on our homepage. You can see the joy and pride on the faces of our students. Everyone wishes s/he were a Cardinal!!! Our 8th grade boys’ basketball team is currently undefeated, and our Academic Team is doing well too. They recently defeated Benton Middle School.
LCMS students were treated to many assemblies during Safe Schools Month and Red Ribbon Week. Missy Jenkins Smith spoke, S’Cool Rock performed, and JD Anderson showed how strong you can be if drug free.
Our Veteran’s Day Program is Nov. 10 at 1:15 PM. Midterm progress reports go home Nov. 14. Our first quarter awards assembly is Nov. 19 at 1:15. Picture make-up day is Nov. 20. Our first quarter reward party is Nov. 21. Our next club day is Nov. 25.
LCMS teachers have conducted several student-led parent teacher conferences. 42% of our parents attended conference night, Oct. 27. In addition, 89% of LCMS parents have had a face-to-face conference since the school year began.
LCMS has 138.62 documented volunteer hours as of November 5, 2014. Our goal is 1,200 hours.
LCMS attendance year-to-date is 96.01%. Our goal is 98% for the year.
