Greetings ECHS Family and Class of 2019!

I hope you are having a great summer and looking forward to the 2015-2016 school year. It is incredible, but we are less than four weeks away from our annual Bridge Camp. Bridge Camp is an opportunity for students to ease the transition from middle school to high school and learn about the expectations and systems at Sheldon Early College High School. This year our Bridge Camp will run from August 3-August 12, 2015, and will be on the SECHS campus (See schedule on next page). During this time students will participate in team building activities as they begin to form an identity as a class; learn organizational and study skills; receive their laptops and begin to use various tech tools with their teachers; and visit the San Jacinto College campus.

Students will report to the ECHS building during Bridge Camp and will be expected to follow the King High School dress code. We will also be sending out more information regarding transportation and bus stops.

One of the privileges of being an ECHS student is that your student will be provided a laptop! All students will be required to have a laptop and will need to purchase insurance to protect the device in the event of an accident and/or stolen device. We encourage students to use the device issued to them as all the software they will need will be installed. The only cost to families is $40 per year to cover the device. The most frequent repairs we have encountered start at $100, so it would be wise to obtain the insurance. Students will receive paperwork during Bridge Camp and bring this home to parents.
