Lynne Johnson: Time Management.
Expert guest speaker Lynne Johnson will present "Rockin' Around the Clock"(Wednesday 11th February is snow day alternative). This interactive presentation will focus on strategies that address challenges with perceiving and planning use of time. Time, represented by clock or calendar, is like a container that can only be filled once and it can't hold everything. Join us to explore how to experience, value, and use the time of YOUR life.This seminar will be informative for adolescents and young adults with ASD, their parents / caregivers, and professionals working with those with ASD. There is a $20 fee per person to attend this seminar (free for The Network members).
2) Wednesday 1stApril. UMass Lowell’s south campus in Mahoney Hall room 101 (on Broadway).
Claudia Spiro “Mindreading Techniques.”
Claudia is a woman with Asperger’s syndrome and she will discuss “Mindreading” techniques. Claudia is a professor at UMass Lowell’s Department of Mathematics. This seminar will be informative for adolescents and young adults with ASD, their parents / caregivers, and professionals working with those with ASD. There is a $20 fee per person to attend this seminar (free for The Network members).
3) Wednesday 13th May.UMass Lowell’s south campus in Mahoney Hall room 101 (on Broadway).
Sally Fogel. Sexuality.
Expert guest speaker Sally Fogel will discuss topics surrounding sexuality, sexual identity, healthy and unhealthy relationships etc. This seminar is appropriate for adolescents and young adults with ASD (aged 16+). Parents will not attend this seminar. There is a $20 fee per person to attend this seminar (free for The Network members).
4) Wednesday 8th July.UMass Lowell’s south campus in Mahoney Hall room 101 (on Broadway).
Aimee Rusman and Korinne Hertz. ASD and Higher Education.
Expert guest speakers Aimee Rusman and Korinne Hertz from MiddlesexCommunity College will discuss topics surrounding higher education and ASD, services provided at MCC, challenges faced by those with ASD in a community college setting etc.There is a $20 fee per person to attend this seminar (free for The Network members).
