Ecomist Dispenser Installation Guidelines and Risk Assessment

Dispensers must be mounted with a spray nozzle height at least 2 metres above floor level to avoid the dispenser spraying into anyones face or eyes.

Dispensers should be mounted with a clear space of 1 metre either side and 2 metres in front of the dispenser to ensure adequate dispersal of the product.

A dispenser should not be mounted anywhere where it will be exposed to temperatures of over 50 degrees celcius.

A dispenser must not be mounted within 2 metres of any naked flame or ignition source.

When installing dispensers due care must be taken to avoid accidents.

  • Make sure that the customer is aware you are on site and knows what you are doing so that their staff can be advised to take care
  • If using a ladder make sure that it is secure and standing on a flat dry surface
  • When drilling into a wall for the dispenser mounting screw, wear safety goggles if using a power drill. Ensure that a masonry bit is used for brick/ concrete walls.
  • Ensure that power leads are placed where they will not cause a risk of tripping.
  • Ensure that tools and tool kits are not left where they can be accessed by children or the mentally handicapped and that they will not cause a risk of tripping

Product risks and Precautions

Observe general instructions regarding aerosol use on can.

There are no significant risks associated with Ecomist odour neutralizers although care must be with dispenser settings to ensure that the fragrance is not overpowering in small areas.

Ecomist Insect Killer with natural Pyrethrins must not be mounted within 2 metres of any food preparation or open food storage area. In restaurants and cafes dispensers must not spray directly over diners or tables.

Do not place dispensers in confined unventilated areas.
