WHEREAS, on March 16, 2014, the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers fell to Butler High School in the championship game of the KHSAA Girls' Sweet Sixteen; and

Sophomore Rachel Warden won the Kentucky National Guard Best and Brightest Award, and Kinsey Mudd was selected for a Sweet Sixteen scholarship award; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Panthers, ably coached by Tim Mudd and assisted by Donnie Swiney and Jimmy Knight, defeated Sacred Heart, Anderson County, and George Rogers Clark on their way to the finals match-up with Butler High School. The team, which returns all five starters, hopes to repeat what it did in the 1997 and 1998 seasons, when it lost in the championship game and then returned the next season to become champions; and
WHEREAS, this honorable body congratulates the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers on their incredible season, commends the hard work of Coach Tim Mudd and his staff for the direction and purpose that he has instilled in these young women on and off the court, and wishes the returning members of the team the best of luck as they begin preparation for another winning season next fall;
