I.  Researches

(i)  1991 - Conducted a research entitled “The effectiveness of ‘O’ Level Examinations in evaluating the objectives of the Secondary school Curriculum in Uganda”. It was submitted in Partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Master of Education of Makerere University.

(ii)  2004 - Carried out Joint Research (Departmental Research) on

(a)  Quality Assurance in Teacher Education Policy and Practice at Tertiary Level.

(b)  Refugee Education in Uganda: Analysis for quality and Relevancy in Primary Education.

(c)  Quality Assurance in Environment Conservation in Secondary Schools.

2. Seminars/Conference Papers Presented

(i)  November 1994, presented a Seminar Paper entitled “The Development of Examination System and Its Influence on the Secondary School Curriculum in Uganda” to Med students and academic staff members of the department of Curriculum, Teaching and Media.

(ii)  2001 presented a Seminar paper entitled “Educational Crisis in Uganda: A product of Contradicting Aims of Education” to M.Ed students and Academic staff members of the School of Education, Makerere University.

(iii)  Presented a Conference Paper entitled “Community Participation During the Process of Curriculum Innovation: A Solution to an Irrelevant Education System in Uganda. Presented under the major theme:

“Challenges to the Social Sciences in the twenty-first Century” at the International Conference Centre, Kampala: 25th – 27th October, 2000. It has been published as a book chapter.

(iv)  Presented a Conference Paper to CODESRIA entitled “The Paradox of Curriculum Innovation and Implementation in a liberalized Higher Education in Uganda: A Challenge to Makerere University, Kampala, 8th – 13th December, 2002 at Kampala International Conference center. (i) June 1993: Attended a Workshop on “Critical Issues and Problems of Education and Development in South Nations” at the School of Education, Makerere University as a participant.

(iii)  September, 1996: Attended a Joint Training Workshop on Environmental Education for sustainable Development for Institute of Teacher Education and Makerere University, School of Education Teacher Trainers” in Kyambogo as a participant.

(iii)  13th August – 4th September 2006: Attended a Workshop on “Curriculum Development and Pedagogy Training within the Quality Assurance Framework of Makerere University” organized by the Faculty of Science – as a facilitator.

(iv)  5th – 10th November, 2006: Attended a Workshop on “Curriculum Development for Makerere and Partnering Institutions” organized by Mbarara University of Science and Technology as facilitator.

(vi)  May 2004: Attended a Course on Basic Principles of Decentralization at Uganda Management Institute.

4. Work / Research in Progress

i.  A research entitled “Community Participation in Curriculum Reform in Uganda” is being carried out in fulfillment of the award of PhD degree of Makerere University

ii.  Writing a book entitled “Curriculum As An Individual’s Life Cycle Experiences and Its Implications to a Teacher in Particular and the Society in General” but topic has been modified as “Analysis of the Curriculum From the Socio-Cultural and Biological Perspective: Implications To The Ugandan Teacher and Society”

The above two are supposed to be published during 2014/2015 academic year

5. Services to the Community

i.  1992 – 1997 Worked as an examiner for UNEB

ii.  2000 – 2007 Served as an external examiner in Curriculum Studies for Islamic University in Uganda

iii.  2008 – 2010 Served as an external examiner for Gulu University

iv.  1999 – to date Lecturer in Teaching Techniques in Health Tutor’s College, Mulago

6. Consultancies Done

i.  2005 – 2012 Have done several consultancies with Associate Professor Joel Oonyu on Health and Education particularly on Designing and Management of Adult Education Programs

ii.  2011 – 2012 Did consultancy in conjunction with Oak Consult in Designing a Curriculum for the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education to be taught in Health Tutor’s College, Mulago
