Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse
2012 Grant Proposal Guidelines

This year, 2012, is the 107th anniversary of the world’s oldest service club, Rotary International, founded in Chicago and headquartered in Evanston. The Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse, one of the more than 33,000 worldwide Rotary clubs, has supported community non-profit organizations through fund raising and subsequent grants for the past 27 years.

Consistent with the goals of the Community Service Committee of the Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse, the Club is seeking proposals for projects and programs that meet our 2011-12 Community Service Theme:

Support local organizations and programs that help build a strong Evanston community by meeting the needs of Evanston's most vulnerable residents, including youth, seniors, the unemployed, and the under-employed.

And these guidelines:

·  Evanston-based organizations or projects that benefit the Evanston community

·  Projects should demonstrate a need not supported by the organization's ongoing operating budget

·  Proposals for projects or programs should request only the amount needed for the specific project or program, but in no case should the requested amount exceed $3,000

Please note these dates:

·  Proposals are due no later than April 17, 2012.

·  Checks will be awarded at the Club’s regular meeting on the morning of June 5th.

Format of proposals:

·  Submit Grant Application Form electronically (2 pages and one additional page with board list) to:

·  Grant Application Form is available on the Rotary Club of Evanston Lighthouse web site: Club Web Page or Grant Application.

Grants will be distributed at the Club’s regular 7:15 am meeting on June 5th. Each organization receiving a grant must have a representative attend this meeting to accept your award. You may be asked to report to our Club during the 2012-13 Rotary year on the accomplishments of your organization and/or success of your project.
