A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Michael Lee Adams.

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams was a native son of the Commonwealth, born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, on May 27, 1938, to the late Lee and Hazel Boggs Adams; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams valued education and service, graduating from Whitesburg High School and furthering his education at Millersburg Military Institute and Georgetown College; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams worked diligently in his community for many years, operating as the owner of Kentucky Parts, Incorporated and A/C Development Company, and later as a commercial real estate agent for Haymaker/Bean and The Gibson Company; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams was a steadfast anchor in the community of faith, serving the flock at Calvary Baptist Church as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and founder of the Calvary Christmas Project; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams was a compassionate and generous steward in his neighborhood, standing as an example of love and source of joy for many; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams was the devout patriarch of his family, the loving husband and companion of Judy Combs Adams; the beloved father of Tami (Mike) Ross, Missy (David) Sanders, and Kara (James) Gilbert; the proud grandfather of 10; and the admired brother of Mark (Denise) Adams and Tim Adams; and

WHEREAS, on November 14, 2012, Michael Lee Adams departed this earthly existence, leaving his family and community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Michael Lee Adams will be remembered for his spirit of love, exemplary compassion, and dedicated commitment to service;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The Senate does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Michael Lee Adams, and extends its sincerest condolences to his beloved family and friends.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Michael Lee Adams.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Judy Combs Adams, 3261 Tudor Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40503.
