Course

Mountain bikers can choose from of two course options; the advanced course and the intermediate course are described below; please read the course descriptions and declare your choice at check in. Please note that all runners will follow the intermediate course option.

Advance course: approximate length = 15-16 mi.

The advanced course will emphasize single track; it is recommended for experienced riders that are fit enough for grueling climbs and skilled enough for technical descents.

The advanced course will include many of your favorite MAMBA maintained trails. It will Start up the bridges side of headwaters and ride to it’s summit; turn right up southside then left up moosemarble and climb the nasty V to Paradise Point; cross ridge road to ride triplecrown and drop down north contour. Ride shortly east on ridge road to upper tusk, loop back to the ridge road and bomb back to paradise point to descend the V, then switchblade and finally headwaters to the finish.

Intermediate course: approximate length = 12 mi.

The intermediate course will include a mix of single track and dirt logging roads. It is recommended for novice to intermediate level riders who can manage low speed single track (as in climbing) but prefer non technical descents.

The intermediate course will also start up the bridges side of headwaters. At the top of headwaters it will turn up southside for a short distance before angling left up a connector towards the wagon road trail and continue to the ridge road. Climb ridge road over Paradise Point and drop to the north for a single loop of triplecrown then back to the ridge road. From there turn back West and descend entirely on ridge road back to the finish at Pond Nine.
