Members out and about at races

**Saturday 21st February. 6 girls and 4 chaps took part in the English National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill Fields. Although the weather was kind the conditions underfoot were appalling with many runners having difficulty staying upright!!! The senior women ran 5miles with the first crossing the line in 30mins 07secs and the last over an hour later in 1:31:11. Danielle Hu was first PS coming in at 49:25, she was followed by Ruth 50:02, Claire K 53:00, Debbie S 53:50, Nicola M 57:24 and Adele 1:01:00.

The senior men had to cover 7.5miles, with the first runner taking 39mins 12secs and the last 1:49:46. Carl was first PS in 56:56 followed by Robert V 1:00:33, Chris 1:04:44 and Eddie 1:20:13. Brilliant running from all of them. Well done and a special ‘thank you’ to all the cross country teams for the chocolates and the beautiful flowers.

**Sunday 22nd February Fords Dunton Test Track 10miles in aid of St Luke’s Hospice. On a bright, but cold and frosty morning the first runner, out of 307, came in at 55mins 53secs and the last 2hrs 19mins 48secs. First PS home in 5th place was Dan C taking 59mins 30secs. He was followed by Robert V 1:12:02 and Danielle Hu 1:21:33 both of whom had run a 7.5 and 5 mile (respectively) gruelling cross country the day before!!!! Next PS came Matthew R 1:29:07 followed 2secs later by Beryl 1:29:09. They were followed by Mark C 1:30:36, Nicola H 1:31:08, Ben L 1:35:16, Carl (keeping his partner Diana company) 1:36:22, Natalie 1:39:29, Liz C 1:51:21 and Rhys 1:55:11. Well done guys. Hope I haven’t missed anyone; when they don’t put club names in the results it’s difficult trawling through all the individual names.
