The Irwin Mitchell Employability award 2016, in conjunction with Student Wellbeing, Learning and Welfare Support.

The Irwin Mitchell Employability award 2016 will be awarded to ten students who are able to demonstrate how the undertaking of a specific activity can make a positive contribution to their future employability. Each award is worth £500 and can be used towards the cost of event, conference or workshop attendance, any travel or accommodation costs (to a maximum of £500). The award is open to students registered with the University with a known disability.

Applicants are required to complete the attached application form (IMASS01), outlining the potential benefit of attending the event / undertaking the activity and a breakdown of costs. Successful applicants will be expected to provide a summary report of their experience and what additional benefit the award has provided in terms of your future employability (a template will be provided for this).

In addition to the £500 award, each successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to spend a day at one of the Irwin Mitchell offices to gain insight into the organisation and explore different areas of business activity. Irwin Mitchell are also offering successful applicants the opportunity to engage with eMentoring in relation to the world of work and preparing for future employment.

A panel comprising the Head of Student Wellbeing, Learning and Welfare Support, A Vice-President of the Hull University Union, a representative from Irwin Mitchell and a member of staff from the Careers and Employability service will consider applications and determine the prize winners.

The deadline for applications is no later than 12noon, Friday 15th April 2016.

Irwin Mitchell and The University of Hull will publicise the outcome of the application round, announcing recipients of the awards. An event will be held to bring all recipients together and of which will also be publicised in Irwin Mitchell and University publicity materials.
