ALARM PERMIT

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

(Section 30-101)

1.  Every alarm user shall obtain an alarm user’s permit from the City Clerk prior to the use of said alarm. Application shall be completed giving the name of the alarm company providing the service, monitoring agent and numbers to be called in an emergency, number and type of alarms installed. Permits are required for audible alarms and alarms with automatic dialing devices attached. This provision does not pertain to alarm systems installed within motor vehicles.

2.  An alarm user which is a publicly owned and operated facility and persons sixty-two (62) years of age or older whose alarm system is installed in their primary permanent residence shall be subject to the provisions of this chapter, but shall be exempt from the fee.

3.  A charge of $25.00 will be added to the fee of $10.00 if a user fails to renew a permit or obtain a permit upon installation of an alarm system.

4.  A charge of $25.00 per false alarm call will be added after six (6) false alarms in a calendar year. City Clerk shall notify when six false alarms have been received.

FEES (Non-refundable)

1. One-time registration fee $10.00

2. Penalty for failure to obtain a permit $25.00

3. False alarm fee after six false alarms in a calendar year $25.00
