Rector’s Award for Excellent Achievement

Leadership

Stellenbosch University annually rewards excellence in the categories of leadership, academics, service provision, community interaction, culture and sport with the Rector’s Award for Excellent Achievement. The nomination process is managed by the SRC and nominations are then submitted to the Student Achievement Committee. Recipients of an award will be invited to the gala-event organised by the division of Communication and Liaison.

The Student Achievement Committee is chaired by the Vice-Rector (Teaching). Staff Member from Student Affairs, Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the SRC, the SRC member for Honorary Colours and the Senior Director: Communication and Liaison form the core committee with the Chairperson. Additional members are co-opted per category.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
The nominee must at least be in his / her fourth academic year at the US.
The nominee must be a recently graduated student having, at the latest, received his / her degree in December of last year or April this year.
The nominee must have completed his / her degree(s) in the minimum prescribed time. (In the case of courses longer than three years, the committee will assess the nominee on merit.)
Nominations must be supported by at least two members of the SRC and two other students.

ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATIONS

All nominations for the Rector’s Award for Excellent Achievement must reach the panel by 12 September 2014. No late applications will be accepted. Nomination forms / supporting documents can be sent via e-mail to or handed in at the SRc office.
