2012Pool Rules

  1. WHEN A LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY:Children ages 10 and under during the pool season are NOT allowed in the pool area unless accompanied by a person 18 years of age or older who is directly responsible for that childeven when a lifeguard is on duty. However, any child, regardless of age, when deemed necessary in the sole discretion of the lifeguard will have to pass a swimming skills test.
  1. Children in the baby pool must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Children over 4 years of age are not permitted in the baby pool.
  1. Once every hour, an “Adult Swim” will be called for 10 minutes. During this time, the lifeguard will not be on duty. This time will also be used to check the chemicals in the pool. Children are not permitted in the pool during this time, even with an adult. You must be 16 or older to swim during adult swim.
  1. WHEN A LIFEGUARD IS NOT ON DUTY:No swimming is allowed except for adults 18 years of age or older. Children may be in the pool if they are accompanied by a guardian 18 years old or older who is directly responsible for the child. N0 SOLO SWIMMING!
  1. Glass or breakable items are not allowed within the fenced pool area.
  1. Proper swimming attire is required (No Cutoffs). Children not toilet trained or who normally wear diapers are not allowed admittance into the pools unless wearing tight swim diapersthat are covered by tight-fitting plastic pantswith elastic at the waist and legs. Swim diapers alone are not allowed.
  1. No one with swimming attire or wet feet is allowed on the stairs or the upstairs portion of the clubhouse.
  1. Persons having open blisters, cuts, or skin abrasions are hereby warned that these conditions might become infected and are advised not to use the pool.
  1. Smoking is not allowed in the clubhouse. Smoking is not allowed within the fenced pool area.
  1. Gum and tobacco products are not permitted while in the pool.
  1. Pets are prohibited within the fenced pool area.
  1. Excessive use of alcohol is prohibited. Use of alcohol by individuals not of legal age to purchase alcoholic products is prohibited.
  1. Showers must be taken before entering the pool after sunbathing with excessive suntan oils or lotions.
  1. Use of life preservers, rafts, or floats will be permitted inside the fenced pool area at the lifeguard’s discretion. Bicycles must be parked outside of the fenced area, not obstructing full operation of the fence gate or use of the sidewalk.
  1. Members must be in good standing (i.e., membership fees and dues paid) to use the pool facilities.
  1. During “no lifeguard hours” you must clean up your area and lock the pool gate when you leave.
  1. Members access to the pool will be controlled with an access card. Members arriving without their access card must be verified as a member in good standing of the Association by the lifeguard on duty. Upon verification, entrance into the facility will be provided. Members may not provide their access card to any person that is not in their immediate family. Members found to have provided their access card to another person (for swim or tennis) WILL have their pool and tennis court privileges revoked. For example, if a teenage friend of a member says they are at the pool because they know the member, and the other member is not at the pool with the friend, the member’s family will have their pool and tennis court privileges revoked.
  1. Parents, children, and grandchildren of members will be permitted full use of the pool facilities. All other guests must be accompanied by a member in good standing. The Homeowner’s Association has the right to assess a $1.00 fee per guest per day. The lifeguard on duty may collect this fee.
  1. No one is permitted to be a guest of a member who is eligible to be a member of the Association. For example, a resident of Lake Washington Plantation may not be a guest of a member of the association.
  1. Radios are allowed in the facility only if used with headphones.
  1. Any member causing property damage to Association facilities will be held financially responsible. Members will be financially responsible for any damage done by guests or members of their household.
  1. Weather, contamination, or other hazardous conditions may require closing of the facilities.
  1. Association members are encouraged to support and assist in the enforcement of pool rules so that all members may fully enjoy the facilities. Please discuss all rules and pool safety with family members before using the pool facilities.
  1. Penalties will apply to those who are asked to leave because of disciplinary reasons:

1st OffenseOne week suspension from the pool

2nd OffenseTwo week suspension from the pool

3rd OffenseSuspension for remainder of the pool season.

The lifeguard on duty has the authority and the responsibility to enforce all rules and regulations of the Association. The offender may be expelled from the pool if the lifeguard deems it necessary. Please recognize that the pool facilities are not operated for childcare services. Failure to comply with these rules can require dismissal of the child from the facilities. Be sure your child has instructions for these contingencies and that a responsible party is available for phone contact.
