Bin Activity Descriptions:

1. Interactive Journal Entry: Students will use 2 page notes to show mastery of a common core standard. On 1 page of the

journal, students write the learning goal, what they know, what they’ve learned, a proof

(example of skill), and a reflection (creative expression of mastery of the standard). On page 2,

students include notes from instruction and a graphic organizer that shows understanding or

serves as a scaffold for further understanding of the standard.

2. Graphic Organizer: Students will create a graphic organizer using any of the available templates, or one they create

themselves, to show mastery of the standards. These organizers may include vocabulary, illustrations,

and real world examples drawn or cut out from magazines.

3. Flipbook: Students will use templates from super teacher worksheets to create interactive books.

4. Story Cube: Students will work together to complete a task by following the directions, or answering questions, after rolling

a cube, which looks like a dice with various instructions.

5. Scoot Game: Students are on the hunt to solve all problems placed or hidden in different areas/stations. After completing

one set of problems, they scoot to the next area to solve the next set of problems, until all problems are

complete.
