Parent Portal Update and Single Sign-On

By this time, most parents are familiar with the Falconer Central School PowerSchool Parent Portal. PowerSchool is the District’s web based student management system where student information is maintained. To access the Parent Portal, parents/guardians and students sign in from Falconer Central School's PowerSchool Parent Portal login screen at www.falconerschools.org. (see example)

Once you click on the PowerSchool icon, you will come to your sign-on page. The PowerSchool Parent Portal now has available a Single Sign-On feature where you can enter one username and password to access all of your students’ information. You will also be able to change your username and password to what you would like it to be, rather than the original school selected information. You will still need the school designated username and password in order to set up your parent account for the first time. Click on the “Create Account” icon.

You should then get the screen below. Enter the required information with your desired Username, the confidential student Access ID and Password for each of your students and click the “Enter” button.

Once you click the Enter button, you should get a new sign-in screen. Enter your NEW Username and your NEW Password that you just created.

Once you enter the new information, click the “Sign In” button. You should then see your students’ names in the upper left hand corner. You may click on each name to access that student’s information.

Falconer Central will be using several other features available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Students in grades 9-12 will no longer receive hard copy Progress Reports or Report Cards. Please contact the Guidance Department if you prefer to receive a hard copy. Middle school students will continue to take their reports home.

Parents will have access to student grades from previous school years and state test scores.

Once you are ready to set up your Parent Portal Single Sign-On Account, you will need to refer to the Web Access Letter enclosed in this packet. The Web Access Letter will have your Falconer Central School Parent Portal Password and Username. This letter will also include your student’s Password and Username. Students will now have the opportunity to log in with their own information. Each student will only have access to his/her information.

If you have never logged into the Parent Portal, you may need to enter your log-in information two times before accessing the Portal.
