Tests and Quizzes

Unit tests will take place at the end of each unit. Students will be provided with an outline at least one week in advance.

Quizzes will take place periodically throughout each unit. The aim of these quizzes is to help students assess their understanding of the material in smaller chunks before the end of unit test.

Homework

Homework will be listed on the homework page on my website.

Assignments

Assignments will not be accepted 1 week after the due date, unless there are extenuating circumstances. If a student needs an extension for a due date they should contact the teacher and explain the circumstances before the due date.

Having work handed in on time allows students to receive feed back on their progress in the course in a timely fashion.

Marks will be recorded in Power School. Parents and students are encouraged to check Power School on a regular basis.

Website

Students, parents and guardians are encouraged to check my website on a regular basis. I will be adding links to test, quiz and assignment outlines and class notes as material is covered in class.

Parent/Guardian - Teacher Communication

To facilitate communication with parents and guardians, I will be sending out periodic updates for Math and Science. The updates outline the material that was covered the previous week, the plan for the following week, upcoming assignments and tests and reminders of important dates.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. If you have any questions at any point in the year please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Belinda Maier
