Current Event Rubric
An A work will include… / PointsSource: Article was cut from newspaper or magazine and attached to current event. If the internet was used, then a printed copy of the article was attached to the current event. / Current event will not be accepted without article.
Time: Article was published within the last year. / 10 points
Neatness: Current Event was neat and easy to read. It was written or typed using blue or black ink. If typed, an Arial or Roman font size 12-14 was used. / 10 points
Length: Academic students have at least 12 quality sentences. Pre-AP students have at least 15 quality sentences. Advanced students have at least 20 quality sentences. / 15points
Summary: (What is happening? What is the article about? Who is it about? Who does it affect? Where does it occur? Why is it important or beneficial to you? How does the information relate to science?) Excellent understanding of topic and command of science vocabulary. Used many descriptive words and topic was well organized. Article was rephrased and not copied. / 40 points
