SUMMARY:

Repair, deliver, build and installs office furniture for client establishments by performing the following duties.

SALES AND MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete the Company’s Customer-Care Installation Packets on all installations. The packet includes the customer sign off form, customer survey and information about how to take care of their furniture and additional services offered by the Company.

Maintain professional physical appearance, which is defined as:

  • Hair groomed
  • Groomed facial hair
  • Wear approved company provided shirts and pants
  • Clothes should cleaned
  • No odor of smoking on your clothes or breath

Identify at least 2 sales lead per month to sell additional office product, office furniture and copier/printer while performing installations at customer locations.

TRAINING NEEDED:

Successfully complete training on “Developing The Sales Attitude”.

Successfully complete training on the product categories that the company sells and how to identify those opportunities when you are at a customer location

Understand the requirements and responsibilities outlined in the “Furniture Flow” process.

Annual training required to be a certified installer of the manufacture’s furniture lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Follow and complete the portions of the furniture flow that are associated with the installer positions. Specifically:

  • Review and understand the needs and complexities of the installation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled installation.
  • Meet with the specifier of the furniture project to review the installation at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled installation.
  • Walk the customer through the installation to review the work performed and obtain customer sign off for the work completed.
  • Meet with the specifier to order any additional parts needed to complete the installation.
  • Meet with the scheduler to schedule the follow trip that is required to complete the installation.

Ability to read the information in the Installation Packets to complete the installation in a professional manner.

Possess the ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner.

Performs pre-trip check of vehicles, trailers and cargo to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order, cargo is undamaged and all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.

Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles as required per Company policies and procedures

Keep vehicles clean

Loads delivery truck in safe manner.

Print product manifest and leave copy at warehouse.

Make punctual and courteous deliveries to customers, collect signatures, or money on COD tickets.

After placing furniture, shine, clean, and adjust for customer.

Answer questions about repairs or adjustments.

Request parts orders from a specifier, ensuring proper paperwork.

Bring any furniture to warehouse for staging or restock. Communicates with accounting whenever a product is returned so it can be added to inventory, etc.

Replace loaner furniture and trial furniture to proper location

Maintain good driving record – at the level, which will allow the insurance company to obtain coverage.

Help unload and check in freight when needed.

Travel within a 400 mile radius may be required on occasion.

Perform general yardwork, maintenance and repair, and janitorial work as needed.

Supports Company/facility initiatives in daily actions and decisions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation Supervisor is responsible for insuring the weekly warehouse review is completed and the warehouse is maintained in an orderly fashion. The Installation Supervisor will read and organize furniture tickets to determine items to be distributed and the order for the most efficient installation. This will be entered in the computer Installation Schedule.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Montana Drivers License

Certified Installation for Haworth, Kimball and Knoll products preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
