Iron Chef Cook-Off

COOK-OFF OPERATING RULES

  1. Dish should be prepared in a commercial kitchen (such as a restaurant, church, etc.).
  2. Dish should be prepared prior to arrival at the Cook-off.
  3. The “secret ingredient” will be provided to all contestants the day before the event.
  4. Contestants should plan on bringing enough of the product for 100 people to sample.
  5. Sample cups, plates and spoons will be provided.
  6. An 8 foot table and two chairs will be provided to each contestant. Electric outlet is on a request only basis.
  7. Roasters are NOT allowed.
  8. Crock Pots, sterno pans, etc. are recommended for keeping food at a safe temperature (if it is a hot dish)
  9. Each booth space is to be decorated by the contestants to translate their product/service to the attendees.
  10. Media may cover the event. All contestants must be willing to have their picture taken for such publications in the public sphere.
  11. All entries will be solely judged by the event attendees.
  12. Each attendee will receive two tickets, one for their favorite dish and one for the best vendor display.
  13. How to win? At the end of the contest the contestant with the most tickets at their booth will receive a trophy and have their picture posted on social media and submitted to the local media via a press release.
  14. The winner will be pictured in a check presentation to the American Heart Association that will go on their state-wide Facebook page.

ENFORCEMENT OF RULES

Entrantsat the Cook-Off must at all times conform to the Rules and Directions set forth by the Cook-Off Event Staff and the host location. They have full authority to enforce all rules and any occupants failing to comply may have their space declared vacant without refund.

TIME & HOURS OF OPERATION

The eventis Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.

The hours for the Festival are 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. All vendors must be in place no later than 4:45 p.m.

A vendor failing to arrive by 5pm will forfeit his/her space. If a vendor is unable to attend, they must contact Eric Moldenhauer at their earliest convenience on his cell phone.

DISPLAYING & SELLING GOODS

Contestants must furnish their own display arrangements. As this is a family-friendly cook-off fundraiser, we encourage you to get creative with your booth decorations.

METHOD OF PAYMENT –The cost of entry is $50. Checks should be made payable to The American Heart Association. Credit card transactions can take place via phone, prior to the event, with a tax deduction receipt provided at the event.

Total payment must be paid prior to the event.

Space will only be reserved after full payment is received. If more applications are received than space allows, priority will be given to earliest registrants, and past participants.

I/We agree to hold harmless Caring Hearts Adult Day Service and ComForCare, or any person connected with the Iron Chef Cook-Off, the American Heart Association, of any/all liability due to damage and/or theft of my/our merchandise, goods, and wares kept upon premises designated by persons mentioned above. This agreement refers to any/all damage including, but not limited to; damage by heat, water, sun, rain, wind, cold, and vandalism and the like. All claims, suits, actions, debts, and costs, charges and expenses, or damages of any nature arising from any activities under this contract, including loss predicated on active or passive negligence of the indemnities.
