Bob Morrill started working street gangs in East Los Angeles in 1966 as a policeman for the Monterey Park Police Department. He along with three members of the California Department of Corrections (Parole Department) put together the original Prison Gang Task Force, originally called the MTF (Monterey Park Task Force). He was the first coordinator of this group, which had its start in 1972. In the beginning it was the PGTF members who trained some of the CDC security officers and educated many Police officers about the group known as the Mexican Mafia or “La eMe”. Bob has also participated in numerous seminars pointing out the dangers of the “prison gangs”. Although the Task Force was an intelligence gathering group, Bob was involved in the arrests of many of the top “shot callers” of the Mexican Mafia, including the “Honorary” Godfather Joe Morgan.

After leaving the Prison Gang Task Force in 1978 he retired and moved to Texas. After a short retirement, Bob went to work for a Probation Department in Sinton, Texas. Here he was engaged in the surveillance of “high profile” probationers, which also had gang members from several cities within Texas. Bob left the Probation Department and went to work in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institution Division, It was here that he interviewed many members of the most notorious “Prison Gang” in Texas, the Mexikanemi. This is what I refer to as a chapter of the California Mexican Mafia. There are several pages that explain this statement in the book

The book allows the reader to trace back in time when this insidious gang had its start in 1957 at the Deuel Vocational Institute in Tracy, Ca. and brings them to the end of 2005.
