Celanese Updates TruModa® Website to Focus on Customer Solutions for Dye Issues in Apparel

TruModa brand polymers also offer cost effective solutions

IRVING, TEXAS —September 4, 2013— Celanese has re-launched its TruModa® website, to present solutions to the apparel industry for a variety of issues including age-old processing limitations and hot color trends. Celanese has set its sights on a number of quality issues including crockfastness and washfastness on denim and pigment-dyed, neon-colored cotton in addition to offering cost-effective processing solutions.

Celanese’s own industry experts have collaborated with members of the textile world for a number of years to address dyeing and quality issues. Harrie Schoots, leader of the TruModa technical team, says “Celanese is not afraid to tackle the toughest issues facing the apparel world today”.

Solutions for hot apparel trends

To achieve a neon color on cotton today, most dye houses utilize a pigment dyeing process often leading to quality issues. “Celanese offers solutions for crockfastness and washfastness that include replacement of current binder technology for pigment dyeing of garments and pigment padding of fabrics. TruModa can also be utilized as a simple post-add to a variety of dyeing processes which can yield a greater than 1 point increase in quality, such as in the case of denim”. TruModa polymers have also shown promise in dispersed dyeing of cotton and cotton blends to achieve neon colors.

Cost-effective solutions

Besides solving quality concerns, TruModa polymers can assist in saving valuable time, water, energy, resulting in cost-effective solutions. This is achieved by reducing the multi-step procedure for dyeing multi-yarn fabrics and garments. “We work closely with the entire value chain from dye house through retailer to ensure that we are meeting the real needs of the industry” said Schoots.
