1.0 Job Purpose:To support the Fundraising Manager and Director of Business Development to develop statutory, Lottery and EU funding applications/tenders and generate new business with potential corporate partners.

12.0Key Responsibilities:
- Support service managers to draft funding applications to statutory, Lottery and European Union funders.
- Develop and maintain portfolio of companies as part of the Corporate Fundraising programme.
- Lead responsibility for developing and delivering plans for securing new income from businesses by identifying growth areas and opportunities within the corporate sector.
- Lead responsibility for monitoring CSR/Corporate Responsibility issues in the Corporate Sector.
- Support the Fundraising Manger on fundraising events including cultivating/networking events.
- Support the Fundraising Manager in identifying corporate opportunities.
- Develop proposals and undertake presentations at Corporate meetings.
- Develop and write funding proposals, corporate applications and reports.
- Take a lead role in developingexcellent working relationships with Corporates, both before, during and after receipt of funds and maintain a high level of supporter care with Corporates.
- Develop, analyse and report on fundraising results in the Corporate field.
- Support the Fundraising Manager to maximise corporate contacts leverage and manage corporate participation in the events programme.
- Work closely with the Fundraising Managerto actively seek sponsorship to support Extern events.
- Work with the Fundraising Manager to provide support to Extern’s donors
Pursue and confirm COTY opportunities for Extern
- Work closely with the Communications team.
- Manage workload in accordance with appropriate deadlines/SLT meeting dates.
- Contribute to meeting discussions and take the lead in the absence of the Fundraising Manager.
- Liaise with other members of the Senior Delivery Team and Senior Management Team in relation to the collation and development of paperwork for meetings.

- Responsible for keeping abreast of current legislation and Extern’s policies and procedures, and attend appropriate training as and when required.

- Adhere to Extern’s Health & Safety Procedures, safe systems of work and not improvise by using methods, tools or equipment which entails unnecessary risk.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Degree/Diploma/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’experiencewithin afundraising/target driven environment, to include 3 years’ experience of securing grants from stakeholders.
- 3 years’ experienceof managing staff, a resource or function.
- Experience of developing successful corporate sponsorship and grants.
- Experience of developing corporate fundraising partnerships for a regional or a national Charity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with a broad range of people.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office packages including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and mail merging.
- Full driving licence and access to use of a car, with relevant business insurance to undertake duties. This includes the ability to undertake work across a wide geographical area.
- Flexibility to work occasional unsocial hours, weekends, evenings and travel – as required.
- Experience to working to targets and meeting deadlines.
Desirable Criteria:
- Membership of the Institute of Fundraising
