Northern School of Contemporary Dance Foundation Course Bursaries2017/18

If you meet UK residency criteria you may be eligible to apply for one of the following bursaries:

16-19 Residential Bursary Fund

If you have to relocate to Leeds away from your usual place of home to pursue your studies you may be eligible to receive a Residential Bursary. The Residential Bursary Fund can help with the cost of your term time accommodation and is payable directly to your Landlord. The college receives funding from the Education Funding Agency to help assist students with their accommodation costs. To apply you must be aged under 19 on the first day of your course, meet UK residency criteria as determined by the Education Funding Agency and your parental income needs to be financially assessed by the college to determine your eligibility.

16-19 Discretionary Bursary Fund

The college receives funding from the Education Funding Agency to help with education-related costs to pay for things like travel and educational equipment for your course. To apply you must be aged under 19 on the first day of your course, meet UK residency criteria as determined by the Education Funding Agency and your parental income needs to be financially assessed by the college to determine your eligibility.

19+ Residential Access Fund

The college receives funding from the Skills Funding Agency to help assist students with their accommodation costs. If you have relocated to Leeds and move away from your usual place of home you may be eligible for a Residential Bursary to help with your term-time accommodation costs. Funding is paid directly to your Landlord. To apply you must be aged 19-24 on the first day of your course, meet UK residency requirements set by the Skills Funding Agency and your parental income needs to be financially assessed by the college to determine your eligibility.

19+ Discretionary Learner Support Fund

The college receives funding from the Skills Funding Agency to help assist students with essential course related equipment and travel costs. To apply you must be aged 19-24 on the first day of your course, meet UK residency requirements set by the Skills Funding Agency and your parental income needs to be financially assessed by the college to determine your eligibility.

Foundation Course Free School Meal Application Form 2017-18

If you are aged between 16 and 18 on the 31st August 2017, you may be eligible for free school meals. If you are aged between 19 and 25 and are subject to a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA) or Education Health and Care Plan (EHC Plan) you may also be entitled to a free school meal if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Assessment and Payment

All bursary applications need to be submitted to the Finance Department by 31 July 2017. You will be informed if you have been successful in your application by 31 August 2017. Payment will be made on a weekly basis excluding holidays, spread equally over the course, upon confirmation of weekly attendance.

PLEASE NOTE: BURSARY FUNDS WILL ONLY BE ALLOCATED BASED ON APPLICATIONS RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE DEADLINE OF 31 JULY 2017.
