Carroll Track & Field 2017

Meet Expectations

1.  Bring your uniform (singlet, shorts, jacket, and pants), spikes, plenty of extra clothes depending on the weather, water bottle, food, homework to work on, etc. Always double check to make sure you have everything.

2.  You can only wear black tights/spandex under your uniform (bottom and top) and there can only be one logo (2x2 inches or smaller). It must also be solid black throughout (only the stitching/seams may be off color). You are allowed to wear jewelry unless the official requests that you take it off. There are also no cell phone, iPods, etc, allowed in the competition areas. The rules are pretty strict and you will be disqualified for not following them by the meet officials.

3.  All relay teams must have matching uniform shorts. For example, all relay team members must either where the school issued shorts, or the uniform spandex tights (blue for boys / red for girls). The uniform spandex tights must be ordered through Coach Ross.

4.  In addition to your uniform, wear only Carroll Track and Field clothing. All athletes are expected to at least buy the Team Carroll Track and Field Shirt (different for boys and girls) and wear this at all meets. The team shirt can be ordered through our team clothing sale.

5.  All athletes are responsible for checking in for their event on time and warming up on time. The length and time in between events will vary from meet to meet. Therefore, it is extremely important that all athletes know the order of events so they will know when their event is getting closer.

6.  Upon arriving to every meet, the team will do one lap together followed by a team huddle/cheer. All athletes will warm-up for their events at the appropriate time and must follow the warm-up/cool down routines established by their event coach. Cell phones are not allowed from the time you start warming up until the time you finish your cool down. Once you start your warm-up, your focus needs to be on your event and what you need to do to help this team and meet your goals.

7.  All athletes are expected to cheer on their teammates and travel around to see how teammates are doing in different events (both running and field events).

8.  All athletes must ride the bus to and from the meet.

9.  All athletes must turn in Goal Sheets for every meet. The Goal Sheets are due the day of the meet and need to include the following: Event-Goal Mark or Time and one specific thing you will do or focus on for each event you compete in.

10.  All athletes are expected to have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and give their BEST EFFORT in each event and at every meet. You are not only competing to meet your individual goals, but also to meet the goals of the team. You need to be ready and willing to do whatever is asked of you to help the team succeed – this includes competing in an event you may not have competed in before. You are representing CARROLL and need to compete with pride and act with class at the entire meet.
