Rideau StLawrence Kings “A: and “AA”
Officials Code of Discipline
It is a privilege to be chosen to officiate in Rideau StLawrence A and AA, officiating program. The Rideau St Lawrence Kings A and AA is an elite program and only official’s that display professionalism and potential ON/OFF the ice will be selected. Selected officials must continue to display there professionalism at all time to remain in this program.
1. Rules governing timings are as follows:
a) Officials are required to be at the assigned arena no less than 30 minutes prior to game time
b) Officials must be on the ice at the appointed game time
c) Officials should assure that teams do not go on the ice before the Zamboni is off and the doors are shut
2. Rules governing thedress code OFF Ice:
a) Dress pants ( jeans are NOT allowed )
b) Turtleneck or shirt/tie NO EXCEPTIONS
c) No team jackets
3. Rules governing dress code ON Ice:
a) CSA approved black helmet with a certified visor
b) Referee sweater with all the proper cresting
c) Black trousers
d) White laces
4. Regarding the game sheet, it is the responsibility of the Refereeto ensure that:
a) All information regarding date, a team name etc is complete
b) The game sheet is signed by each team and all bench personnel are listed on the game sheet
c) The number of players on the ice must coincides with the game sheet. If more players are on the ice than on the game sheet, the team must add them prior to game
d) Start and finish times are recorded
e) The number of goals and penalties for each team are counted, recorded and circled on the game sheet, strike out any open spaces
f) All game sheets are to be signed by the officials and are to include the officials PRINTED name and CHOP number. After properly completed and double-checked, give all copies to the scorekeeper who will distribute them.
5. Official’s Game Reports:
a) For a write-up, the Referee willretain the last,yellow copy and asks the scorekeeper to distribute the remaining copies to the teams. Write-ups will be reported to the district chair person within 24 hours of the conclusion of the game. Game report must be submitted within 24 hours of the conclusion of the game.
b) Officials are required to produce a written report using the ONLINE Game Incident Report form
c) For any game misconduct, gross misconducts, match penalties and/or any incident which the official deems necessary,reports are to be written as detailed and as necessary to convey the incident and the awarding of the required penalties. Remember, someone who did not see the game may have to make a judgment
d) Make a copy of your report or keep your notes and be prepared to attend a hearing to give a verbal account of the incident. Not all officials will necessarily be called for a hearing
e) Any game incident must be reported to the District Chair Barb Levere at (613) 360-7105. Followed by an E-mail of the game report to District Chair Barb Levere at (). This should be done automatically by the online reporting system.
7. Rules governing discipline
Discipline will be as follows and all fines levied to any member of the RSLK shall be kept in the supervision fund, which will benefit the membership as a whole;
- Being late for assigned games (less than Thirty (30) minutes) $5.00
- Dress code violations $5.00
3. Missed assignments $10.00
- Failure to submit a Game Incident Report within 24 hours $5.00
- Failure to properly fill out Game Incident Report $5.00
