Employee Membership

Policy #02-1

Annual Membership dues for this Association will be set at $15.00 per member per calendar year. (January 1 through December 31) Dues will be payable by January 31st of each year and will not be pro-rated for late payment. Revised 8/14 - Policy #14-01

Associate Membership

Policy #02-2

Associate membership is available to individuals and groups who are associated with partnering agencies and support the conservation of North Carolina’s natural resources. Associate members have no voting rights nor hold an office. Dues will be $10.00, per calendar year (January 1 through December 31). Dues will be payable by January 31st of each year and will not be pro-rated for late payment. The following are the sub-groups of Associate memberships recognized by the Association.

Affiliate Membership – Employees of partnering State, Federal, and County agencies, associations and foundations. These member’s dues will be used to support the NCCDEA Endowed Scholarship. Affiliate members children are entitled to apply for the scholarship. Affiliate members are entitled to participate in the Association’s Professional Employee Development Program (PDEP).

Group Membership - Organizations and other non-individuals that want to be recognized as a group or association that partners with the NCCDEA Group members are not entitled to programs offered by the Association.

Family Membership - Immediate family members of any of the above listed sub-groups. This membership is individual and these members are not entitled to programs offered by the Association.

Corporate Memberships

Corporate membership is available to businesses that work with partnering agencies and support the conservation of North Carolina’s natural resources. Corporate members cannot hold an office nor do they have voting rights. Dues will be on a three (3) tier structure, Bronze - $100, Silver - $250, and Gold - $500, payable per calendar year (January 1 through December 31). Dues will be payable by January 31st of each year and will not be pro-rated for late payment. Corporate members are not entitled to programs offered by the Association. Dues will be used to enhance the NCCDEA as set by the North Carolina District Employees Association Executive Board.

Election of Officers

Election of Representatives

Policy #04-1

Area Representatives serve a three (3) year term. Elections of Area Representatives will take place by April 30 of the year the term is expiring. The rotations of the terms for Representatives are as follows: Areas 5 and 7 every three (3) years beginning in 2013. Areas 2, 4 and 8 will be every three (3) years beginning in 2014. Areas 1, 3 and 6 will be every three (3) years beginning in 2015. Representatives will begin their duties at the mid-year Governing Board meeting of the NCCDEA.

Benevolence Fund

Policy #05-1

Money raised from the "After Hours" event at the NCASWCD Annual Meeting and the Golf Tournament/Outing at the Conservation Employee Training will go to support the Benevolence Fund in addition to the regular budgeted line item amount. Revised 8/14 – Policy #14-02

Expenses

Policy #13-01

The President will be reimbursed at 100% of actual cost of all his/her expenses incurred with receipts while attending meetings with NCCDEA funds, unless non-DEA sources or National DEA sources provide reimbursement. These meetings include: NACD/NCDEA Annual Meeting; National CDEA Leadership Conference; Southeast CDEA Meeting and North Carolina DEA Mid-year Board Meeting. Other meetings will also include in state meetings (i.e. planning meetings).

The Vice-President and the Treasurer of the NCCDEA Board of Directors will approve or disapprove in writing the payment of reasonable, specific expenses incurred by the President in the lawful transaction of Association business.

Reimbursements for other officers are as follows:

Vice-President

Up to $500 reimbursement between January 1 and December 31 of a given year

Secretary

Up to $500 reimbursement between January 1 and December 31 of a given year

Treasurer

Up to $500 reimbursement between January 1 and December 31 of a given year

*Alcoholic beverages are excluded

**Completed NCCDEA expense report and receipts are required for reimbursement of approved expenses.

Membership

Policy #14-01

Annual Membership dues for this Association will be set at $25.00 per member per year. Three year memberships will be set at $70. Dues will cover one full year from the date of payment.

Fundraising Activities

Policy #14-02

Revenue from fundraising activities will be reviewed annually and funds directed to DEA programs. The Executive Board will make a recommendation to the Governing Board on where the revenue should go.
