September Newsletter
I would like to welcome students and parents to a new and exciting year. Can you believe that summer is already over and another school year has started? There are a few students and parents that I have had the pleasure of working with in the past, and a bunch of new ones I’m excited to be working with for the first time. I have planned a lot of fun, challenging, and educational lessons throughout the year. If at any time you have a question or concern please feel free to contact me at school or stop by to visit at the end of the day. My door is always open! I am looking forward to a fantastic year and hope to see you at Back-To-School Night on September 15th.

Important Information
*We are using the student agendas again this year. Students will be expected to write down their homework assignments at the end of the day. Parents please check these planners daily. No homework on Fridays, but there will be monthly projects. Raz-Kids and Reflex Math homework will be starting soon.
*Students will have a red daily folder to put their homework in. This folder is also a good place to put a note or other important information that needs to get to me. I check these folders every morning. Parents please check these folders nightly. This daily folder is our main form of communication!
*Please help your child memorize their School ID numbers and password (birthday month & day-4 digits). It will be a HUGE help in the classroom, cafeteria, and computer Lab. Passwords will be located in the front of your child’s red daily folder.
*Pinebrook will be open till 4:00 every night in case your child forgets something at school. For safety reasons, it will be locked after that time.
*BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology) will be starting soon. Be on the lookout for more information.
*On Fridays we are going to have Fun Friday. Fun Friday is something your child will earn if ALL work is completed for the week. Your child can bring in a game or toy from home to share with classmates. Be careful with what is sent in!
*This year I will be sending home Scholastic Book orders. If you decide to order from any of these, you can write out a check made payable to Scholastic. These book orders are a great way to buy CHEAP books. If you would like me to make a recommendation on a book, feel free to ask.
*Please make sure you are supporting our PTA. I can’t say how important it is for everyone to join. The PTA has been working very hard to plan many fun activities throughout the school year. They also give teachers money to purchase instructional materials for their classrooms. Thanks PTA!!!
*A few parents asked what supplies they could bring in to help throughout the year. I have set up a fishbowl inside the classroom labeled with supplies we will need. Feel free to go fishing anytime during the school year.
*It is very important to attend Back-To-School Night on September 15th. I will be sharing a lot of important information on what will be going on throughout the school year, as well as, classroom expectations and policies. Reminder: Only Parents should attend-No Children!
*Prepaying your child’s lunch account is a good idea. You can pay in advance for lunch.
*Due to our late lunch we will have an optional snack this year. It is your choice whether you send a snack to school with your child. There are allergies so I am going to ask that all snacks be healthy and peanut free.
Looking forward to a great year!
