How Do I Update A Course?
1. Login To ECD
If you do not have a login id please sign up for one using the sign up link on the main menu. After logging in to ECD the main menu should look like the screen below.
2. Select Create / Edit / Reinstate from the main menu to open the screen below.
3. Select “Update A Course” To Open the Search Screen.
4. Enter A Subject Name And Press “View Results” To View The Screen Below.
PLEASE NOTE: A Course Number may also be entered.
5. Select A Course To Edit From The List (Use the “Click Here” Link)
If your course has an outline (The courses with the large red “Yes”) the edit screen shown below will open directly.

If your course does not have an outline (No in the outline column) the screen below will open.
Selecting “Basic Template” will open an editing screen (Screen - U1) with only a few fields filled in (Fields like course title, top code which can be taken from the Protocol course system).
Selecting “Copy Template” will open the screen below (Screen – U2) where the user may choose to copy another course’s outline to the course they’ve selected to edit.

Selecting option “A” will open the screen below. It allows the user to copy an outline of the same subject and number from another campus using the “Copy It” link.
Selecting option “B” opens the screen below. It allows the user to search for an outline of another subject and number to copy.
Selecting option “C” (On screen – U2) allows users to copy an outline from their own ECD outline (If they have saved one previously).
6. From The Editing Screen (After the selection in step 5) Make Appropriate Changes.
Edit the outline by making changes in the boxes shown on the screen below. Example: The user may edit the course title by changing the text in the box shown at the bottom of the picture below.
7. Select “Save To My ECD Inbox” or “Submission Options” When Edits Are Completed.
The ECD will be saved to your ECD Inbox (Shown below). From your ECD inbox you may print the ECD, Email it or send it to your department chair for review. PLEASE NOTE: When the ECD is sent to the department chair it will leave your ECD Inbox. Also, please note that ECD is that your edits will not become part of the official outline until it is approved by all of the designated approvers at your college.
Your ECD inbox is also available from the ECD main menu (Shown below).
