Holthusen-Schindler Scholarships
2015-2016 Application
FELLOWSHIP INFORMATION
These scholarships were established in a behest from the estate of Lenore S. Holthusen, widow of Hen Holthusen (Columbia Law, 1917), to provide financial support in the form of scholarships to worthy graduates of Columbia College who continue their education at Columbia University’s Law School. All newly admitted and continuing Columbia Law students are eligible to apply. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Columbia College Committee on Honors, Awards, and Prizes.
These terms are admittedly broad. In practice, the committee offers awards to those for whom the convergence of their own preparation for law school, professional and personal goals, and the special benefits of Columbia Law School seem most apparent. For continuing law students, the committee will also factor in a candidate’s overall progress toward the degree. Each candidate’s financial need for this support is also an important consideration.
