Summary:Promote the proper use of seed and other services offered at Key Cooperative to area producers by building customer relationships that help grow seed sales for Key Cooperative.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports Key Cooperative’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
- Projects a positive attitudeto customers and employees at all times.
- Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
- Promote and support the agronomy program.
- Implements strategic seed sales plans to accommodate agronomy seed sales corporate goals.
- Assist in placing the correct genetic family or hybrid / variety to maximize the growers return per acre. Training the technical side of the business at plot days, grower meetings, one on one, etc.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, and executes sales calls with assigned customers to solicit orders.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Assist with day to day activities of running a seed/proprietary product district including: planting and harvesting plots, plot data management, managing inventory, reconciling year end, handling performance complaints, staff meetings, etc.
- Serves as the liaison between seed sales and agronomy operations.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of seed sales to conform to the agronomy department budgetary requirements, and aids in the monitoring of seed inventories at the Agronomy locations.
- Prepares periodic seed sales reports showing seed sales volume, potential seed sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
- Develops annual farmer/customer programs that include soil testing, field mapping, product recommendations, timely and accurate application, field monitoring as needed, record keeping, and follow-up calls.
- Adheres to Key Cooperative pricing policies and credit terms.
- Interprets soil sample results and makes fertilizer application recommendations.
- Services customer’s agronomic needs
- Prepares reports as requested by the Northwest Region Manager.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid CDL with required endorsements
Certified Crop Advisor
Other Skills and Abilities
3 years or more of a proven track record of the ability to organize and carry-out sales plans and strategies by performing one on one successful selling techniques with agricultural crops producers.
