Niko is a 27-year-old college drop-out who spends his days slacking in Berlin, living on an allowance from his parents, who think he still studies. And life is well. But not on this day. In quick succession, Niko loses his girlfriend, driver's license and easy access to money. And as the day proceeds, Niko keeps being confronted with how much Berlin around him changes, and how he himself basically has been standing still for the past few years...This tragicomedy is a self-ironic portrait of a young man who drops out of university and ends up wandering the streets of the city he lives: Berlin. The film deals with the desire to participate in life and the difficulty to find one's place. Black and white, tragic and funny, Oh Boy! is a winning debut from director Jan Ole Gerster.
“Oh Boy” is nominated for the European film awards 2013!
The film has been nominated in the category of European Film 2013. Lead actor received a nomination as Best European Actor 2013
