Purpose of the Role
  • To support the successful implementation of the National Bowel Screening Programme in Southern DHB and subsequently the DHB’s in the Southern Region (South Island)
  • To support the on-time delivery of the Bowel Screening Programme at each South Island DHB
  • To liaise with all South Island DHB’s and the appropriate stakeholders to ensure successful implementation
  • To develop strong relationships with all South Island DHB’s and assist them to implement the Quality Standards of the National Bowel Screening Programme.
  • Facilitate sharing of learnings and resources with all South Island DHB’s
  • Support South Island DHB’s to meet colonoscopy waiting time indicators and assist in production planning for the region for symptomatic patients
  • Support the provision of quality across the South Island including models of care, KPI’s, planning and implementation of quality initiatives
  • Support primary care across the South Island in relation to the Bowel Screening Programme
  • Ensure that the required performance data and quality data is provided to the Ministry of Health as required
  • Support all efforts to improve rates of participation with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups
  • To be the point of contact and advice for South Island DHB’s
  • To liaise and network with the other Project Managers for the Bowel Screening Programme

  • To work collaboratively with the Clinical Leader for the Bowel Screening Regional Centre for the South Island
  • To work collaboratively with all clinical staff across the District in Primary and Secondary care as appropriate
