As an OEM company, Xxx can supply a complete product range; both standard parts and customs components designed in accordance with customer specifications with high quality and excellent subassembly work and logistics services. Xxx’ product portfolio mainly consist of bolds, screws, nuts, cable ties, dowels, screw eyes and hooks, strip strings, wired strings and wire parts, cast parts as well as sheet and forged metal parts. Among Xxx’ long standing customers are *** (www.***.com), *** Groep (www.***.com), *** (www.***.com) and *** (www.***.com). Nearly 40 % of Kuhn’s customers are active in the automotive industry.
Aside from its headquarters in The Netherlands, Xxx also has an office in China.
Xxx is currently looking for Turkish supplier(s)/buying agent(s) of metal parts and components which should fulfill/possess the following criteria and abilities:
- CNC laser, water and plasma cutting,
- CNC turning,
- CNC machining,
- TIG welding,
- Sand blasting,
- Stainless steel part manufacturing capacity
- Ability to deliver in small volumes
- Familiar with working in/for food processing machinery
- Aiming 0 failure and high quality
- Runs an in-house quality room equipped with hardness meter, microscope and 3d measuring devices
- Ability to deliver in small volumes
- Ability to communicate in English/German
In return, Xxx is promising to support its local partner(s) with its professional logistics know-how, experience in European markets and excellent technical support.
2 Summary
Turkey has a very vivid metal forming industry. The local companies manufacture a wide range of iron and steel articles and they employ virtually all kinds of processing techniques that are globally in use (i.e., forging, CNC lathes, universal, plasma cutting, MIG-TIG welding, etc.). The production quality is up to the international standards. Especially, casting and processed steel pipes and tubes occupy a significant place within the local industry.
Out of 15 firms approached for this market scan, 13 of them expressed eagerness to discuss agency/partnership possibility with Xxx BV whereas 1 company needs further follow-up by xxx BV and 1 other firm did not consider any partnership with a foreign client.
3 Market Information
Turkey has a very vivid metal forming industry. The local companies manufacture a wide range of iron and steel articles and they employ virtually all kinds of processing techniques that are globally in use (i.e., forging, CNC lathes, universal, plasma cutting, MIG-TIG welding, etc.). The production quality is up to the international standards. Especially, casting and processed steel pipes and tubes occupy a significant place within the local industry and this particular strength also reflects on the international trade figures (Please see Table 1 & Table 2).
Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Eskisehir, Izmir, Ankara, Kayseri and Konya are the most important provinces for the metal working branch. The overwhelming majority of the companies are in the form of family-owned SMEs.
The bilateral trade volume between the Netherlands and Turkey in HS Code 73 was approximately US$ 102 million last year. Total Turkish exports to the world amounted to US$ 4.9 billion as opposed to almost US$ 2 billion imports also in the last year. Iraq, Germany, UK, Algeria, Libya, Turkmenistan, Romania and USA are the most important export markets for Turkish firms whereas China, Italy, Germany, France, USA and Spain are the biggest exporters to Turkey with respect to HS Code 73.
