There is no true leader, but Zaidan, Crackerjack, Military Attack and Treasure Beach have raced on-pace occasionally and are the most likely pace runners. Much depends on the barrier draw. There is a very short run to the first bend and it is a disadvantage to be trapped wide. Those drawn wide must decide either to go forward if they think they can get across quickly, or to go back to get in closer to the rail. The tempo should be slow, and may be very slow.
