Directions from BurlingtonAirportto White Birch Lodge

  • Before exiting from airport, get directions to Williston Road.
  • From Airport Road drive to light on Williston Rd. (Route 2) & turn left onto Williston Rd.
  • At first stoplight (not blinker), turn left onto Industrial Road.
  • At stoplight, turn left onto Route 2A North.
  • Pass one light, cross railroad tracks, & get in right lane to the “5 corners” stoplight. (Chittenden Bank on the left – Lincoln Inn on the right.)
  • Go straight, bearing slightly right, to pick up Route 15.
  • Route 15 goes through many towns (Essex, Underhill, Jericho, Cambridge) and turns are frequent. Road is well marked – but pay attention that you do not go off on a tangent, and stay on Route 15 East.
  • Take Rt. 15 East to Johnson where it connects to Rt. 100C (about a 1 hour drive from Burlington). You will see a Mobil Gas Station on your left, just before the junction. (It takes about another hour to get to White Birch Lodge – unless you get behind a school bus or tractor! – in which case you can just relax and enjoy the scenery!
  • Left turn onto Rt. 100C North
  • Rt. 100C goes into Rt. 100 ( @ 8 min. drive);turn leftat stop sign and go north on Rt. 100.
  • Continue north on Rt. 100 to town of Lowell (@ 15 minutes).
  • Just after you see the Missiquoi Manor Bowling Place on the left, turn RIGHT onto Rt. 58 East.
  • Follow Rt. 58 over LowellMountain, through Irasburg (*turn left at village green to stay on Rt. 15); (&* stay on Rt. 15 by turning right at stop sign) before town of Orleans; continue thruEvansville. *Pay attention to the signs as the road has some turns as it goes along.
  • Rt. 58 ends at Rt. 5A; bear left at the “T” and take Rt. 5A north, until the end. (@10 minutes) just outside of West Charleston.***
  • At Rt. 105, turn right and take Rt. 105 East to East Charleston. (@5 min.)
  • At East Charleston Country Store, turn left onto Church Hill Rd. toward EchoLake.
  • At the end – a “T” – turn right and follow the road around the lake, staying to the left as you go around.
  • Immediately after house # 1509, turn left into White Birch’s driveway. There is a green sign beside the driveway.
  • Find your cottage ~~~ and enjoy!

***There is a shorter way from here, if you wish. As you go along Rt. 5A, there is a right turn-off onto the Hudson Rd. (dirt) which goes to East Charleston. Take the first left turn onto Center School Rd., (may not have a sign) which passes CharlestonElem.School. At the end (top of the hill), turn right onto Rt. 105 and follow the directions to East Charleston.
