A parent or guardian is to sign packet sign out sheet at time of pick up; no packet is to be handed out without parent/guardian filling out sign-out sheet.
All packets are to be turned in by Friday, January 30, 2015
All fees must be paid when packets are turned in. To participate in talent competition, contestant must participate in the pageant competition.
Pageant fee $30.00; Talent (competition fee) $25.00.
Friday, Feb. 6,2015, 5:30 P.M., contestants will have an opportunity to rehearse their walk, question, and talent. This is not a mandatory rehearsal.

Entry Specifications and Schedule
Pageant Date: Saturday, February 7, 2015 (Pageant begins at 5:00 P.M.)
Residency Requirements:
One of the following must be met:
- Contestant must be a resident (where you live for at least six months) of Sylacauga or the Sylacauga area; (i.e., home telephone prefix MUST BE: 245, 249, 207, 208, 267,290,369,391,401,487,491,626,861,872,404, and/or zip code 35151, 35150).
- Or Contestant must attend school in the SylacaugaCity, B. B. Comer, or Fayetteville School Systems.
- Proof of residence must be provided, i.e. telephone bill, utility bill, etc.
Interview:
Categories: Petite Miss and Little Miss Divisions will have
NO INTERVIEW – on stage question only for Petite and Little Division
4th – 5th grade Pre Teen 3 minute interview
6th – 7th grade Young Miss 5 minute interview
TIMES: All 5 years – 3rd grade contestants must arrive at Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Department by 4:00 P.M.
TIMES: All 4th – 7th grade contestants must arrive at Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Department by 2:30 P.M. Interviews will begin at 3:00P.M. Each contestant in 4th -7th grade will have an interview/conversation with the selection panel. The attire will consist of casual wear.The interview will be a sit down format.
Evening Wear:
Categories: 5 years – 3rd grade Easter/dressy Sunday attire; ballet
length dresses AREallowed;No Pageant or
Jr. Bridesmaid dresses.
No make-up.
Remember, age appropriate dress.
4th – 7th grade“Junior Miss Look” ISallowed.
Formal/tea length attire IS allowed.
Gowns with slits & showing cleavage are
NOTallowed.
Excessive sequins/beads NOTallowed.
Make-up is allowed.
Stage/excessive/heavy make-up is NOT
allowed. Remember, age appropriate dress//make-up.
All contestants will have an on-stage conversation/interview with the Mistress of CeremoniesVictoria Bailey, Miss Sylacauga 2014. Five years- 3rd grade contestants will converse with Miss Sylacauga about issues such as noted on application, etc. Fourth grade-7th grade contestants will have a conversation similar to application and judge’s interview. ONLY opened-ended questions will be used; this is NOT meant to be an added challenge, butis meant to allow contestants the opportunity for the judges and the audience to get to know the contestants better.
TALENT
ALL talent presentations shall not exceed 2 minutes. Your background tape may include vocals as long as it is clear who is actually performing on stage. No pre-recorded tapes will be allowed on background tapes used by dancers; for vocalists, only backup vocals allowed on CDs. A piano will be available for all pianists. A contestant may choose to have an accompanist for his/her talent; however one will not be provided. A hand held, cordless microphone will be available. Talent should be age appropriate for contestant.
If a talent CD will be used during the talent phase, talent CDs must be turned in withapplication,cut to exact performance time (no more than 2 minutes!!!!) Contestants must bring an extra backup CD with them to the pageant. The CD is to have only the song needed for competition on it, and be no more than 2 minutes.
Photograph
A 5x7 photograph (color or black and white) must be turned in with the application. Picture must be labeled on the back with contestant’s name and age/grade division.

All entry specifications must be met by Friday, January 30, 2015. Any contestant failing to meet specifications will not be eligible for competition. No Refunds.
